Architectural Graduate, Damien Ramtano, brings a commitment to sustainability to his work as he seeks innovative ways to connect communities through collaborative design.
A love for the art of model-making and being immersed in DIY projects were two powerful influences steering Damien towards a career in architecture. His problem-solving skills and creative flair also helped – as has his ability to read and speak three languages!
Damien completed his master’s degree at Unitec in 2019, undertaking a major research project in the re-activation of redundant industrial spaces, with an architectural approach that also renews a building’s significance and uses in its community. A topic which reflects his commitment to designing environmentally conscious buildings and the importance of connected communities.
In his role as an Architectural Graduate in Chow:Hill’s Hamilton/Kirikiriroa studio, Damien enjoys the precision involved in 3D modelling, the challenge of preparing conceptual drawings and site plans for clients and, above all, being involved in defining Hamilton’s changing cityscape.
